Capital of the Tuscan region, Florence is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art, the beautiful cathedral Duomo and the Galleria dell'Accademia where you can find Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture. The Uffizi Gallery exhibits many famous pieces. If interested in visiting any of these sights I highly recommend making reservations.

Walking around Florence is incredible, take a stroll along the Arno River and walk over the Ponte Vecchio, where family own shops sell gold in their tiny shops along the bridge.

Get lost in the streets of the city..

BUT..let us start off with some of our favorite spots.

"Festival del Gelato" for ice cream.

"GILLI BAR" For pastries, cappuccino, etc. You can sit down, but then price will increase. Having your coffee standing up at the countertop is quick, but it's in true Italian style.

"I Fratellini" Hole in the wall sandwich shop. One of the best along with now the famous "All' Antico Vinaio', expect long lines, but worth it.

Mercato Centrale is a market place where you can find all different types of food, but surrounding this is the San Lorenzo leather market. Many leather goods, don't forget to bargain for your favorite thing!

The Bistecca alla Fiorentina is a classic. You can eat that at any restaurant or Trattoria in the city. It's our Florentine steak on the grill.

Our family favorite spot to enjoy that and of course many other dishes are Trattoria Cambi, 13 Gobbi, Cinghiale Bianco and I Latini.

Watching a sunset at the PIAZZALE MICHELANGELO is also a must! It's not downtown so you will have to take a taxi or your own car .

Piazza Santo Spirito and the area surrounding PIAZZA PITTI is a fun place to go in the evening to grab bite or a drink.
